It's Maria. Candy has me running errands for him in the wrong part of town and this one has me worried. I've got a bunch of cash, a lame bodyguard, and I know there's people out there who'd like to do nothing more than to piss the fat man off by hitting his pay roll service. I could use your help on this one, so meet me at the warehouse in Redhook. Now we'll see how good you are.

Gauntlet is a mission in Driver: Parallel Lines.
Plot
Candy tasked Maria with an assignment of escorting money in the rough side of Brooklyn. Problem is, her bodyguard, Manni, is very ineffective, and there are a lot of people who want to mess with Candy's pay roll services. Thus, Maria enlists TK to help her out.
Objectives
- Stop the ambushers getting to Maria. [Back to top]
- The player has to face 4 waves of ambushers who arrive in SUVs and are armed with machine guns. The player must fend them off before they get too close to Maria and Manni's car.
- Maria's driver has been killed. Get in her car! [Back to top]
- By the time the player deals with the fourth wave of ambushers, Manni will die, regardless if the ambushers get to him or not, forcing the player to take the driver's seat in Maria's car.
- Get Maria to the gang's HQ. [Back to top]
- Once the player gets into Maria's car, they have to drive her to the gang's HQ in Queens. It's very important to keep the car safe and avoid the cops where possible, as Maria's car has some heat. Attracting police attention will make the mission significantly harder in getting the car to the HQ, as unlike in the 1978 era, the police will use drive-by shooting tactics.
Pre-Mission Instructions
- Protect Maria.
- Make sure she gets to the drop point.
