The Latinos are a gang featured in Driver 76.

Description

The Latinos are a large gang present in New York. The name of the gang and appearances of its members suggest the members have a Latin-American descent. The Latinos can often be seen driving black Cerranos. The leader of the Latinos is Romero, operating out of the Copacabana Club in Harlem, the gang's main base of operations. Romero is the mastermind behind the whole gang, and is responsible for the cocaine monopoly in New York.

Appearance

The Latinos are the main focus of Chapters 4 and 5. The gang is first mentioned in the cutscene after the mission Have a Heart, where Ray informs Slink that there are some drug shipments heading to the Copacabana club, and suggests using the money they've earned from the jobs to hire some muscle and hit the drug shipments. This leads to Ray and Slink hiring the Thompsons, a deadly husband and wife duo. Together, Ray and the Thompsons steal various drug shipments from the Latinos. As it later turns out, the drugs actually belonged to Zhou, the leader of the Triads. The Thompsons then betray Slink and Ray by taking the drugs and money. Isaiah of the Southside Prophets shows up, and asks the duo who took the money from the bearer bonds safe in Elmo's Bar. Ray then claims that the Latinos took the money, and he and Isaiah get their revenge on the Latinos, first by blowing up the Copacabana Club, and then killing off Romero, leaving the Latinos without a leader.

After Romero's death, the Latinos begin working with Jimmy Yip, Romero's friend and a former member of the Triads who betrayed Zhou and wants to take over his empire.

Trivia

• The gang is very similar to the Colombians in Driver: Parallel Lines, as both gangs are involved with shipping cocaine.
